Divisions & Eligibility:

7v7 Divisions-Grade as of August 31, 2025

  • 3rd Grade:
    3rd & 4th grade may be a combined division

  • 4th Grade:
    3rd & 4th grade may be a combined division

  • 5th Grade:
    5th & 6th grade may be a combined division

  • 6th Grade:
    5th & 6th grade may be a combined division

  • 7th Grade:
    7th & 8th grade may be a combined division

  • 8th Grade:
    7th & 8th grade may be a combined division

  • Freshman & JV Division:
    (Current 9th & 10th graders as of August 31, 2025; school based teams only))

  • High School Varsity Division:
    (Current 9th–11th graders only; school based teams only)

Important Notes:

  • Divisions close once the 15 team limit is reached

  • Players may play up, but may not play down

Is there an early bird discount?

  • Team Registration (by January 31st): $225 off

  • Individual Registration (by January 31st): $25 off

Is there a multi team discount?

  • $200 discount applied automatically when registering two or more teams.

How many games are played each week?

  • Two (2) games per week

  • 25 minute games

  • Pool play format

Officials & Coaching:

Who officiates games?

Each game is officiated by two certified TASO officials. Additionally, many of our high school TASO referees officiate at the college and professional levels as well.

Are volunteer coaches welcome?

Yes, please email contact@pflugervillefootballacademy.com to begin the approval process.

Uniform Requirements:

  • Personal jerseys or sleeveless shirts allowed

  • Numbers on jerseys strongly recommended

  • Two jerseys suggested (light/dark), not required

  • Teams must provide:

  • Soft-shell helmets

  • Uniforms

  • Mouthpiece (mandatory)

Can PFA assist with uniforms?

Yes, please email contact@pflugervillefootballacademy.com to connect with approved partners.

Ball Size by Division:

  • 3rd–4th: Wilson K2 or TDJ

  • 5th–6th: TDJ / TDY

  • 7th–8th: TDY / HS

  • 9th–HS: Standard HS size

  • No white footballs allowed

Gameplay Rules:

Are coaches allowed on the field?

  • 3rd–4th grade only: One coach allowed on offense

  • All other divisions: Coaches must remain off the field

How long are games?

  • 25 minutes

  • No halftime or timeouts

  • Clock stops only for injuries

QB Tees:

  • Provided by PFA

  • Teams may elect to use a center instead

Free Agents & Team Formation:

Can individual/free-agent players register?

Yes, individual registrations are available for 3rd–8th grade divisions.

Are teams required to be school based?

  • 3rd–8th: Open rosters allowed

  • High School: Must be school affiliated

Player Eligibility & Zorts:

How does PFA ensure eligibility?

All players must have a Zorts Player Eligibility Card (valid for 12 months).

Why does PFA use Zorts biometric verification?

  • Protects league integrity

  • Ensures fair competition

  • Eliminates eligibility disputes

  • Reduces check-in time by 95%

  • One-time annual document upload

  • If a player is deemed ineligible, both player and team are removed immediately.

Medical & Safety:

Is medical staff onsite?

Yes, certified sports physical therapists will be onsite for injuries and pre game needs.

Media & Photography:

Can teams have their own media on the field?

Yes, with approval and a signed waiver. Please email contact@pflugervillefootballacademy.com for approval.

Game Day Operations:

What if a team is late?

  • Game starts with remaining time

  • Forfeit after 10 minutes

  • Two forfeits = immediate removal from league play

Who do I contact onsite with questions?

Please visit the PFA canopy or speak with your assigned Field Marshal.

When are scores updated?

Within 24 hours of all games completing.

Meetings & Communication:

Will there be a preseason meeting?

Yes, a coach & TASO referee meeting will be held prior to the season and is highly recommended.

Weather Policy:

What happens if games are delayed or canceled?

  • Coaches will receive email & text alerts

  • Weeks 1–2 canceled: Games rescheduled (4 games following week)

  • After Week 3: No makeup games

  • This does not apply to the End of Season Tournament
